Presteigne add High Definition EVS LSM XT to their hire fleet
Presteigne Broadcast Hire continues to be one the largest hirers of HD equipment in Europe. They have again added to their vast hire stock of High Definition equipment by purchasing the latest 4 channel HD EVS LSM XT hard disk recorder.
Presteigne took delivery of this unit at the end of May, however, after only a short period in our UK broadcast centre it was sent out to Portugal for 1 month for Alfacam to use in their complete coverage of the Euro 2004 Football Championships.
The unit has 5 x 73GB internal hard disks and can work in either Standard Definition or High Definition modes.
Presteigne, a long-time provider of EVS XT-servers, went on a clear course towards high definition as early as January 2003 when the first HD cameras were added to their rental inventory.
Presteigne´s HD stock now includes a range of Canon HD lenses, Thomson-Grassvalley camera chains, Sony camcorders and VTRs. In accordance with the companies´ commitment to offer a product portfolio as complete and up to date as possible, adding HD XT-server channels to the catalogue was a logical next step.
Mike Ransome, Presteigne´s MD, comments: " We have definitely noticed increased demand for HD - it´s the way things are going. That is probably due to the fact that we are doing jobs across the world on a daily basis. With the arrival of the HD LSM-XT, we can now supply a complete production chain totally in high definition."
Presteigne´s investment in SD equipment continues with the purchase of three more SD LSM XT Servers taking the count of EVS´s to over a dozen. Many of these including there HD will be travelling to Athens for the Olympics next month.
